SpaceX launches Starship-Super Heavy (Prototype) from Orbital Launch Pad A, Starbase, Texas, USA on Sat Nov 18, 2023 at 13:03 UTC. Second integrated launch of Starship and Super Heavy. Starship sucessfully performed liftoff clearing the orbital launch tower. On this occasion all 33 Raptor engines from Super Heavy performed nominally during ascent, and the rocket managed to reach max Q. After that, Super Heavy performed engine cutoff while the Ship hot staged, separating from the booster while firing its engines, introduced on this iteration of Starship, the process was succesful. However, Super Heavy experienced a RUD, exploding moments after flipping away from the Ship, but succeding in reaching its destination. The Ship continued its course gaining altitudeand speed, however right before MECO, SpaceX informed that they lost contact with the Ship, meaning very likely that the Ship also experienced a RUD. This was a test flight so everything after the liftoff and clearance of the launch tower was a success for SpaceX, this launch will help the team learn a lot about this vehicle and become more reliable for upcoming test flights.
