I was blown away when I first heard “Appaloosa“ in Sept. of 1978. Such a fun song to play on drums. It's long, fast, with big fills, triplets, flams, stops, time changes and Carlos Rios shredding on the guitar. Mark Craney () constructed a drummer's masterpiece. I've always loved the sound of his big fat open bottom toms and that distinctive ringy hi hat. Man, could he make those hi hats sing.
