Johann Sigismund Kusser or Cousser (baptised 13 February 1660 – before 17 November 1727) was composer of Hungarian parentage active in Germany, France, and Ireland. First modern-day performance of Johann Sigismund Kusser’s Birthday Serenade for Queen Anne, ’The Universal Applause of Mount Parnassus’, written for the celebrations at Dublin Castle in 1711. Performed at the Chapel Royal, Dublin Castle on June 12th, 2015 by Ensemble Marsyas, directed by Peter Whelan. With grateful support from the Irish Arts Council.
