‘Godfather of virtual reality’ Jaron Lanier says society is creating artificial intelligence as a new “superbeing” which is making people “stupid”. “We are creating this almost religion around AI as this new superbeing and I think doing that makes us stupid,” Mr Lanier told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
