Cambridge. A man comes out of a house and walks to a car parked outside. Several shots show him fitting cameras to the inside of the car so that a driver's behaviour can be analysed step by step. Several other testing devices are fitted to the car. This is part of a new scheme started by the Medical Research Council to try to stem the number of road accidents in Britain. A man gets into the driver seat and the researcher sits in the back seat. While the man drives along the researcher speaks into the microphone of a tape recorder. Several point of view shots from the front of the car as we drive along. After the test drive we see the researcher in a dark room, examining pictures taken during the test. He makes points on a graph. On a wall we see two graphs; one marked 'Skilled Drivers', the other 'Unskilled Drivers'. Note: notes and magazine article on file. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
