Hannah Waddingham, one of the hosts of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, has spoken about the importance of supporting other women in the entertainment industry and beyond. Waddingham, who is also an Emmy Award-winning actress for her role as Rebecca Welton in the TV comedy “Ted Lasso”, said she was thrilled to share the Eurovision stage with two other talented women: Alesha Dixon, a former member of the girl group Mis-Teeq, and Julia Sanina, the lead singer of the Ukrainian rock band The Hardkiss. “I think women need to celebrate women as much as possible,” Waddingham told Euronews. “We’re all in this together, and we all have something unique to offer. I’m so proud to be part of this amazing trio of hosts, who are all strong, smart and funny.” Waddingham, who was born in London in 1974, started her career as a stage actress, earning three Olivier nominations for her performances in musicals such as “A Little Night Music”, “Kiss Me, Kate” and “Spamalot”.
