On this date in 1979, JOY DIVISION performed SHE’S LOST CONTROL on Granada TV’s WHAT’S ON programme, (July 19th, 1979) Recorded live in the studio, Granada haven't repeated it since. The band were on last and the end of show credits cut into the performance. The footage and audio exists in several separate bootlegs forms so I’ve tried to clean up and combine the parts as best as possible. I’m no video editor but the result looks and sounds better than what’s currently on YouTube. The song is cut in a couple of places, particularly at 2 minutes 30 seconds during the credits. Perhaps the reason why it’s never been shown again. On the original broadcast, the presenter made an announcement about the next programme during Joy Division's performance. However, the master tape in Granada's vaults does not have this.
