‍ ️A US man has been declared innocent after spending 27 years in prison. Gerardo Cabanillas is finally freed from jail after being wrongly convicted of robbing a couple and sexually assaulting the woman in Los Angeles in 1995—when he was just 18. Although no concrete evidence was found against him and victims couldn’t confirm his identity, the police managed to trick Gerardo into confessing, promising him only would be over two decades before DNA evidence would definitively prove Cabanillas did not commit these crimes.
