As we get nearer to WWDC, rumors are starting to appear and it looks like iOS 16 is getting a few significant new features, including improvements to your iPhone's lock screen. First let’s jump into the jucy stuff, leaks, rumors and new features. Our first leak comes from LeaksApplePro and shows off the supposed changes coming to widgets. I guess they’re getting bigger and will have more functionality… but take this one with a pinch of salt, those icons have been redesigned which is a reasonable enough change that we could expect, but that apple TV remote icon looks a little suspect to us. It kinda looks nothing like the apple tv remote… right? Let me know what you think in the comments is this leak legit or bogus?! According to Mark Gurman's 'Power On' newsletter, there's also going to be further improvements to Messages, Health apps, and iPad multitasking. He also backs up those widget changes claiming that they are migrating to the lock screen too. Since the debut of iOS in 2007, we haven't really seen major changes to iPhone lock screens. Sure we got a Camera shortcut and a 'Today' notification giving you a brief overview of your day but it’s remained pretty static apart from that. But soon that could change with the introduction of interactive widgets on the lock screen. Widgets have already redesigned our home screens so why not our lock screens too. Rumors also say that the new iPhone 14 will have an always-on display meaning you’ll be able to check lock screen notifications at all times. Although details are scarce, further improvements to Messages and Health will be welcome - and we’re hoping to see Health appear as its own app on iPad and Apple Watch. That’s just about it as far as leaks go so here are some things that we are keeping our fingers crossed for. READ MORE -
