Introductory intertitle reads: “Every now and then the great Volcano of Stromboli reminds the West Coast of Italy that, as one of the world's safety valves it is getting overloaded.“ Shot through a circular mask of a mountaineer climbing on a rocky outcrop. Various shots of the Stromboli volcano in mist. “Ominous mutterings before a coming storm - a storm of rock, white-hot lava and deadly gas that may some day blot the island out for ever.“ Various shots of the volcano belching smoke and flames - a couple of men seem to be in risky positions on the volcano clambering about. One man close to the camera seems to be wearing some kind of gas mask - it is not clear what he is trying to do. Perhaps he is a cameraman or sound recordist. Explosions of flying lava are seen. Note: not sure if the volcano is called “Stromboli“ or if that is just the name of the place where it is located. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
