The UN Security Council convenes to discuss the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question. The risk of regional spillover of the Israeli-Palestine conflict remains high, a top United Nations official to speak at the Security Council today, as delegates underscored that a full-blown conflict between Israel and Hizbullah would be catastrophic for Lebanon and the wider region. Khaled Khiari, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East and Asia and the Pacific to attend the session since 7 October, 304 Palestinians, including 79 children, have been killed in the occupied West Bank, where settler violence remains a grave concern.
