.“ - DIMASH'S GUIDING STAR | THE STORY OF ONE SONG In the rich creative biography of Dimash Kudaibergen, there is one song that became his guiding star, giving him a ticket to the world of show business. According to the singer, he treats this composition with special trepidation. Dimash won his very first serious and coveted victory with this song at the Kazakhstan Republican contest of young talents “ZHAS KANAT“ (Young Wing) in 2012, having since become the “Golden Wing“ of the competition So, in January 2017, a young, almost unknown Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaiberngen performs in the 1st round of the Chinese contest “I am a Singer“ with the song “SOS“ in French. The jury and the audience are shocked by the performance of this song, and the next day more than 600 million viewers will know about Dimash. What is the secret of this wonderful work and what is the history of its appearance and further existence? In 1976, composer Michel Berger and poet Luc Plamondon wrote the first rock opera in the history of France, Starmania, with fantastic content about an underground city in which a fierce struggle for power, betrayal and love reigned. There is only one beautiful aria in this opera, which did not fit into the general context, as it was more human and even philosophical. The hero of the opera grieves over the body of his murdered lover, in despair turning to heaven with a plea for help. Musically, this composition turned out to be extremely difficult to perform due to the highest notes. It was written precisely under the extraordinary voice of the popular singer of that time Daniel Belavuan. The opera was first released on CD, and in 1978 its first production appeared on the stage of the Palais des Congresses in Paris. And quite naturally, the first performer of this song was Danizl Belavuan, who brilliantly performed this composition, but the singer's successful career was tragically cut short due to his death in a plane crash. Later it was sung by other famous singers. The last performer of it (before Dimash's performance) was a young, talented, but early deceased French singer Gregory Lemarchal, who was adored by the whole of France. He had a very beautiful, but not too strong voice. A bright man with a kind soul, Gregory Lemarchal will forever remain in the history of the song “SOS“. The singer died in 2007 at the age of 24 from a terminal illness, in which state he was still able to perform an aria from “Starmania“ at the “Star Academy“ competition. This music was tragically intertwined with the fate of Lemarchal, forever sinking into the soul of the French. Dimash, having heard “SOS“ performed by Lemarchal in his youth, was literally fascinated by the music and the tragedy of this song and dreamed of singing it at some competition. He took over the baton from Lemarchal in 2015 and gave it a new life at the international festival “Slavic Bazaar“ in Vitebsk (Belarus), where he became the winner and received the Grand Prix. And in 2016, Dimash, as part of the delegation of the University of Arts, was in Belgrade (Serbia), where he performed the song “SOS“ a cappella after they did not believe him that he sang live. After the furore at the Chinese song contest “SOS“ Dimash Kudaibergen was invited to the popular TV show “Les années bonheur“ on French television. With his performance on the show, Dimash SOS raised the French audience from their seats, who applauded his talent standing up. Dimash was dressed in a suit exactly resembling the one in which Gregory Lemarchal performed at the same show, which touched the audience very much. The composition became a dedication to the singers Daniel Belavoine and Gregory Lemarchal, who died prematurely in France. One of those present at the show wrote to host Patrick Sebastian: “Dimash is certainly the best SOS performer. If it wasn't for Dimash, most of the world wouldn't know about this beautiful song.“ Show “Les Années Bonheur“, Paris, 2017 An unforgettable impression on everyone was made by Dimash's performance of this song at the American contest “The World's Best“ in Los Angeles in February 2019. Despite the condition of the contest to shorten the song, Dimash managed to put so much drama and strength of his talent into it that all the members of the jury and 50 judges were stunned and fascinated, many could not hold back tears. However, the final of this competition is known to everyone - Dimash refused the $ 1 million prize because of his unwillingness to compete with children. His unprecedented act in the world of show business caused shock and misunderstanding of some and enthusiastic approval of the maturity and originality of this act of others. The World's Best Show, Los Angeles, 2019 There was also a performance of this song at Dimash's 2 solo concerts in the Kremlin in March 2019. The audience received it with constant delight and stormy applause.
