The upcoming season is set to bring the Netflix show to a close after following a group of kids' fantastical adventures since its debut in 2016. Stranger Things season 5 is expected to pick up sometime after the cataclysmic events of season 4, with Hawkins grappling with the devastation from Vecna's (Jamie Campbell Bower) attempt to bridge the 1980s American Town with Upside Down. With Stranger Things season 5 set to bring the series to a close, the season is expected to focus primarily on the remaining cast and concluding their arcs for good. However, it has already been confirmed that Terminator star Linda Hamilton will join the season as an undisclosed, potentially new figure. As such, the mystery new character could be Hamilton's role, with the episode alternating between catching up with the core cast while introducing her to the current Hawkins landscape.
