Carnival on the French Riviera has been held since the 13th century. The first parade was organized publicly in honor of the king of Sardinia and the Queen of Naples and Sicily, who visited nice during the carnival . Currently, the biggest attraction of the event in nice is the flower Parade. Imagine a dozen or so platforms decorated with fresh flowers that glide along the waterfront. You should see it! During the day, a flower battle is organized, during which flowers are thrown from platforms towards the public. During the parade, more than 100,000 cut flowers land on the public's heads. In turn, when the sun hides far below the horizon, a parade of lights is organized. Amazing light decorations are installed on the platforms to once again please the crowd with their skill in preparing carnival decorations. Interesting fact: people in full disguise can take part in the parade for free. Military and religious costumes are prohibited.
