Sanctions targeting the Russian economy have been West’s most immediate response Moscow’s war in Ukraine. The measures aim to limit Kremlin’s ability to raise money for its war efforts. The EU and its allies have agreed on energy embargoes, froze, financial assets, and implemented restrictions targeting more than 1,400 individuals. These measures come top of sanctions the EU implemented after Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. So what has been achieved with the latest sanctions?
