Stephane Rolland Ss23 Haute Couture, Fashion Show SPRING 2023 COUTURE Stéphane Rolland’s totem dresses celebrate Brazil’s gold in Paris “The designer showed a highly sculptural collection this season. “Stéphane Rolland showed a strong, sculptural collection for spring, which was rooted in Brazil. He long had loved Marcel Camus’ film “Black Orpheus,” from 1959, which riffs on the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice. “I started to build the story in three parts. The first is Rio in the ’70s — architecture, the modernity of the structure,” said Rolland, explaining the second section refers to Brazil’s Amazonian roots and the Indigenous people from the rainforest. “There are sculptures on the dresses in lacquered form, in solid form, and there are many new techniques.
