Two internationally renowned Orthodox philosophers of religion, David Bradshaw and Richard Swinburne, discuss the role of reason in the Church Fathers revered by Eastern Christianity. Swinburne and Bradshaw point out a patristic practice from Athanasius to Palamas of offering rational considerations for the existence of God, in order to reinforce the claims of divine revelation.
