This is the CP-2000 transceiver made by Communications Power Inc. (CPI) in the USA. This radio was sold from 1977 to 1981 by CPI. It is the only CB radio on the market (then and now) that is designed as a professional HF radio. As a results, the specifications and associated performance are phenomenal (but so was the price tag in 1977!). To name a few, it has an adjacent channel rejection of more than 70 dB. SSB mode has a true 2.3 kHz 8-pole crystal filter, and a 6 kHz crystal filter for AM (combined in a single case). The RF power amplifier is designed as a wideband amplifier and uses a professional stripline transistor also used in military radios of the time. It is robust against infinite SWR. Modulation is superb in both AM and SSB mode, and uses a built-in speech processor to increase talk power, something you will normally find on professional HF radios not not CB radios. The AM mode has the best ALC (automatic level control) I have ever seen on a HF radio, completely eliminating over modualtion. The r
