An exhibition “GENERATION Z” by Futura, a graphitti artist from New York, will be held at The Mass from November 16 for the first time in almost 20 years. We made a short movie that captured the production process during his stay in Japan. I feel it is important to reflect on my past, as well as look to the future. McGurr explains. “Graffiti was a way for me to exist. I wanted the world to know my name. I wanted to be somebody…you just need to keep moving. don’t stop. just keep moving.” The exhibition will showcase 4 different kinds of sculptures and 27 specially-commissioned canvas works–created exclusively during a residency in Japan
