Honda Motorbike Riding Assist Technology, allows a motorbike to auto balance in place, with or without a rider. Riding a bike at slow speeds, such as starting and stopping in peak hour traffic or traffic jams, or keeping a bike upright on windy days at stop lights, can be quite challenging, a rider can become fatigued, especially on big heavy bikes. To overcome these issues, Honda came up with Honda Riding Assist. Normally to keep a motorbike upright, you need a large and heavy gyroscopic device, plus you also need to keep it constantly turning, however this would alter the riding experience, so Honda decided not to use a Gyroscope. Instead the motorcycle automatically balances itself using an assistive mechanism, derived from robotics technology, the same type used in their human walking robots. NOTE: Please keep in mind, this is still experimental technology and will continue to evolve over time, the actual bike used in this video is just the platform chosen to test the system on.
