This is a spotlight on the Severum Cichlid (Heros Efasciatus). We walk through the background on these cichlids, as well as a care guide. We touch on the different types of Severum (Red Shoulder or Rotkeil, Green, Gold, Red Spotted and Turquoise Severums. Tank size is the primary consideration with these fish. We'd recommend a 75 gallon tank at minimum for an adult. Regarding tank mates, it would be wise to have back up plans if you're putting these with the aggressive cichlids out there (Jack Dempsey's, Green Terrors, etc.).
