In June, I was sitting in a hotel room when I received the final master of a vocal that blew me away. We’re talking tears, goosebumps, the whole fucking deal. It was sung by HALIENE over a basic demo that Standerwick & I were working on. Excited like a school kid, I soon took to Twitter to tell the world how good it was, and everyone naturally assumed it wasn’t my song… because what sort of TOTALLY ARROGANT CVNT says that about his own tune? Uh, me, apparently. Oops. Fuck. Learning to think things through before hitting ‘post’ is not a lesson I’ve learned yet. People had various ideas of who the track was by. Luke Bond, Craig Connelly, and I didn’t correct anyone because a) it was fun watching everyone guess who it was and b) by that time it had turned into a fucking good bit of marketing so I just let it play out (sorrrrry) Since June, Standerwick & I made and tested out 15 versions of the track and worked like mad to give this incredible vocal the music it deserved.
