MF DOOM's Alter Egos Explained

MF Doom's passing capped nearly three decades of prolific album releases under a vast array of alter egos and aliases, including a run from 1999 to 2005 that stands as one of the very best album runs in music history. In this video, we’re going to put the focus on the two albums he released in 2003 under two completely different names: Take Me To Your Leader by King Geedorah and Vaudeville Villain by Viktor Vaughn. Rather than dive into the lyrical content of these albums, we’re going to look a bit more broadly at the meanings of these two additional alter egos in regards to the greater DOOMiverse. It’s a bit less analytical, a bit more sitting back, throwing on some headphones, and having a drink and a chat about the late great Daniel Dumile and one lesser known corner of his incalculable impact on the genre.
