Israel: Locals flee after rocket siren activated in Jerusalem

Locals were seen celebrating Jerusalem Day in one moment, then fleeing and panicking to safety just seconds later, shortly after air raid sirens rang over Jerusalem on Monday evening. The sirens sounded after the militant group Hamas issued an ultimatum to Israel that police must vacate the Al Aqsa mosque and that all detainees must be released. Israel's parliament was also evacuated as the sirens went off. Earlier, near the al-Aqsa mosque, thirteen officers and some 300 protesters were reportedly wounded during the clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces. The clashes occurred ahead of the planned Israeli celebrations of Jerusalem Day in the old city. The celebrations mark the anniversary of the Israeli state capturing parts of the city in 1967.
