From 1975 - 1977 I did extensive field work in the Dominican Republic assisted by Ramon Perez Martinez. The music we recorded, some of which provides the sound track for this slide show, was originally released as 4 lps on Folkways; later on Smithsonian Folkways, and one lp on Lyrichord. The entire archive has now been acquired by Alianza Dominicana to become part of their new Museum and Cultural Center which is presently under construction scheduled to open in 2010.
