Good evening. This is what happens when a very large and plasma rich filament is flung into space. A fascinating coronal mass ejection (CME) was produced by the filament eruption I first reported on Tuesday morning (4/28/2015). Unfortunately for sky watchers, it appears to be directed well away from our planet. An impact to our geomagnetic field is not expected. Video by SDO/AIA/304 and LASCO C2/C3.
