Ukrainian soldiers hugged members of their family as they returned to Kherson in footage posted by a military unit on Sunday, November 13. The soldiers, part of the “Khimera” subdivision of the 126th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, based in Odessa, are seen knocking on the doors and greeting family members in the street in Kherson. “Several fighters of the unit are originally from Kherson, their relatives did not want to leave the city since the beginning of the war and then they could not,” the unit wrote on Instagram. “Parents didn’t know that their sons were coming as there has been no communication recently. And here’s the long-awaited reunion,” the unit wrote. Russia confirmed the withdrawal of its armed forces from the region on Friday, November 11.
