Azerbaijani soldiers attempted to cross the Lachin corridor to place an Azerbaijani flag on Armenian territory.

The Lachin corridor is the only passage connecting Armenia and Artsakh, and is controlled by an Azerbaijani border checkpoint at the Hakari Bridge. The soldiers were allegedly accompanied by Russian peacekeepers during the attempt. Armenian border guards opened fire in response, forcing the Azerbaijani troops to fall back. Azerbaijan has now placed a ban on humanitarian traffic through the corridor, cutting off Artsakh from critical supplies.
