We started a SMALL balcony vegetable garden (3 square meters) on our rental apartment last spring. As a trained landscape designer in California, I would like to share 4 steps and some tips on how to set up an edible balcony garden at home, especially on how to maximize the space of a small space while meeting different functions requirements - grow, work, store, and relax.
