The Johns Hopkins Psychedelic Research center was launched in September 2018 and conducts research focusing on how psychedelics impact brain function and mood. Psychologist, Bill Richards created the playlist and emphasizes that the music has been carefully chosen with the intention of guiding and supporting the participant’s psychedelic experience. “I think of it as a nonverbal support system, sort of like the net for a trapeze artist. If all is going well, you’re not even aware that the net is there — you don’t even hear the music — but if you start getting anxious, or if you need it, it’s immediately there to provide a structure.”— Bill Richards, psychologist and researcher at John Hopkins Tracks: O Magnum Mysterium (Arr.
