John Carpenters Escape from New York (Kurt Russell, Snake Plissken, intense chases, blood, gore, fights, shootouts, sci-fi)

In a futuristic fascist USA, entire New York has been turned into a hellish walled off prison. Once you go in, you dont come out. A bitter war hero (Snake) turns to bank robbery when he is caught, meanwhile the American President gets kidnapped and the kidnappers crash the plane in New York, so now its up to Snake to do the job and get him back from somewhere inside New York, which is now ruled by vicious gangs. He doesnt want the job so they trick him with poison. Get him out within 24 hours or you will be dead yourself!
