This is an interpretation of dussack play #19 from Paulus Hector Mair's enormous compendium of martial arts teachings “Opus Amplissimum de Arte Athletica“ (MSS ). ⭣⭣⭣ More information available below ⭣⭣⭣ See other dussack plays: Website: Source: Dresden I Transcription (1540s) by Pierre-Henry Bas Fencer: Florian Popp & Mariana Friedrich --A Throw out of the Hacken It happens at the closing that you strike in towards him with a long extended Oberhaw [1]. If he then also strikes towards you out of the long blow [2], step inside with your right foot behind his left. Thus you come into the Hacken (Leg Hook) [3]. [Note that it's necessary to lean in and out due to reduced distance, otherwise the stepping in doesn't work] If he comes to you like this in the Hacken, drop a Krump on him with your right arm over his and with your left hand around his neck in the front, then yank towards you with the Hacken (as in illustration). Thus you can throw him. [4] If he intends to throw you like this, spring with your left foot behind his left and grab his left elbow with your left hand. Thus you escape him from below and above. Then immediately strike with an Oberhaw away from him [5]. If he then follows after you [6], wind your Duseggen up over your head in a good position and at the same time follow after (him). Thus you set aside his strike with your long edge. Then immediately thrust to his face or chest [7]. If he will further set this aside, then cut from above to his head [8]. If he wants to parry that, use the two cuts from below from both sides [9] [...depending on which side he parries].
