Orphaned baby rhino and zebra help each other forget the loss of their mother

An unusual friendship has taken place between a zebra and a rhino at the Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary. The rescue team encountered the newborn rhino when he was weak and defenseless. The little rhino was only a few days old – he even still had his umbilical cord. It is unknown what happened to the cub’s mother, but she was not nearby. The baby rhino was named Daisy and was admitted to the intensive care unit, where she met Modjadji the zebra. The shelter’s specialists treated and cared for the babies around the clock, while Daisy and Modjadji became attached to each other.
