Well well, this video is the prequel to my Jane Eyre video that I posted almost two days ago lol I'm feeling like this novel is giving a voice to an abused woman. Antoinette aka Bertha literally lost her identity throughout the book and this is why I chose this Hilary song. Years ago, I used the acoustic version but never the original one except for a few snippets during audio mixing. Thanks to this exam, I finally used this song. I'm feeling this month will be mostly dedicated to my year-end-mash-up. However, I'd like to explain the reason why I used this song. In the book, Rochester strips off Antoinette's identity and turns her into the Bertha we all know. Her descent in her own Madness is represented through these lyrics. She doesn't know who she is anymore and when she's in captivity, she burns everything down and kills herself. That's a very tragic ending but I loved how the Professor introduced us to this novel. I'll use more movies from our Program next month before the exam. It'll be interesting to discuss it in the exam though.
