“You“ ~ The Aquatones (1958) Fargo #LF-B-1001 - The flip side of, “She’s The One For Me“ - This Long Island group, consisted of Lynne Nixon, David Goddard, Larry Vannata, & Gene McCarthy. The Aquatones were primarily known for the David Goddard/Larry Vannata composition called YOU, which was recorded in late 1957 and released in mid 1958. Interestingly, YOU went to the #1 spot on the R & B charts, though position is questionable, but only reached the #21 spot on the POP charts -OR- It reached #7 in New York, #1 in Boston, and #21 on the Billboard national pop charts. Chart position information may vary. Lynne Nixon passed away in January 2001.
