Sky News host Andrew Bolt has revealed he almost resigned over the Indigenous Voice to Parliament proposal as he had “lost faith” in Australians. “Over Christmas, I told my wife I’d have to resign this year because I couldn’t understand this country anymore,” Mr Bolt said. He said at the time polls revealed nearly two-thirds of Australians backed the proposal as major corporations poured millions of dollars into the Yes campaign. “No one dared say No – of course, the bullying was so bad – but then something amazing happened. “Over the past year, the polls have shown that the Voice went from two-thirds support to now approaching two-thirds against.” Mr Bolt said he has found the tide change “inspiring” as it shows Australians can’t be “bought off” with money or frightened by bullying.
