Demonstrators are expected to gather at the Saudi Arabian embassy in London on Saturday to condemn the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, a top Shia cleric. The execution announced by Saudi government earlier in the day has sparked a wave of protests and public criticism in Iran, Yemen, Bahrain and Lebanon. Al-Nimr had a prominent role in the anti-government protests that took place in 2011 in the wake of the Arab Spring.
