Conservative commentator Benedict Spence says Suella Braverman declaring the election ‘over’ gives her “leeway if she decides to defect to Reform”. Ms Braverman blamed the situation on a fracture within the Conservative Party resulting from a rise in Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.
