Full title reads: “His Majesty's Tour in the West“. Devon and Cornwall. King George VI (formerly Prince Albert, Duke of York) tours Duchy of Cornwall Estate. Various shots of King arriving by rail at Moretonhampstead in Devon. Cheering crowds waving Union Jack flags greet the King. Various shots of King's car driving through crowd lined streets of Launceston, Cornwall. Various shots of King walking up to Launceston Castle. A quirky ancient ceremony then takes place. The King, standing on raised platform, is presented with 'rent' from his tenants - not money, but odd gifts. Local dignitaries, including the mayor, kneel before the King present him with a bag of pepper, greyhounds, spade and firewood. Crowd and King laugh.
