Restoration of a very rusty axe from the tsarist period. Probably the middle of the 19th century. This axe was used to cut thin pieces of wood. The condition of the axe head is poor, very rusty, there is a crack. But I'm going to fix it now. Firstly, I cleaned the surface of the axe head with a rust remover. Then I washed it in water with soda. I made new bevels on the grinding machine, adjusted the cutting edge. Then manually sanded and darkened all the holes on the surface of the axe. I made the handle for the axe from a dry hornbeam. To protect the handle, I added a piece of thick leather and stitched it. Next, I made a simple leather sheath for an axe made of medium natural leather. And as usual, I conducted an axe test for you, please do not forget to share this video. Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention! Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex! Please subscribe to my channel: @ScrewsAndTools 🍖 My New Cooking channel!
