As the adage goes, “Check on your strong friends“. Too many of us are going around putting on a happy face, when deep down inside, we’re hurting. The deep dark hole of depression is scary yet familiar to so many of us. And those who have suffered for a long time become familiar with the hole, a place where not much light gets in. You have to realise that there is a space between living in the hole and acknowledging that the hole is there. Because that space is your freedom. That space is where your power to choose lives. Let people into your struggle - please, please, please reach out with your words and ask for a helping hand, or a shoulder to lean on if you’re feeling hopeless or alone. Please let someone help you see past depression to the hope on the horizon - because you can be heard, and you can be healed. There is love and understanding waiting for you. Help is just a few words away. Filmed in Suurbraak, South Africa. Featuring Gary Goldstein.
