A heady mix of Lycra, adrenaline and sweat was on show at the annual World Human Powered Vehicle Championships in Kent, Southern England. Over 100 riders from around the globe who crave speed and performance attended these annual Championships that were held at Betteshanger Park; a former colliery spoil tip in Kent. As well as speed there is a genuine desire to push the boundaries of design in recent years, which has led to an upsurge in recumbent bicycles. The low centre of gravity, increased stopping power and overall improved aerodynamic position make these recumbent bikes an exciting vehicle to race. Drone footage courtesy of
