Full title reads: “Off The Needles. True to the British tradition! Captain & Crew of the 2,687 ton 'Roumelian' 'stand by their ship' after collision in dense fog with French steamer - and beach her.“ The English Channel, off the Isle of Wight. A sunken ship, half submerged in the water. A tug floats next to it. The camera moves along the side of the ship and the tug - water is being pumped out - part of the Roumelian was flooded after the collision with the French steamer. Shot on part of the ship still above water. More shots of the beached ship and more shots of the water washing on board. Two men can be seen walking along the deck of the beached ship. The camera moves round ship to the stern where her name can be seen just above the water. The voiceover describes the successful beaching as a sign of 'British pluck and seamanship'.
