JUST IN: In this exciting update, on May 21, the Chinese Long March-2C rocket accomplished a remarkable feat, successfully launching three cutting-edge satellites from Jiuquan at approximately 08:00 UTC. The first two satellites, Macau Scientific Satellite 1 A and B, are on a crucial mission to monitor and study Earth's magnetic field, similar to ESA's Swarm project. With a particular focus on the enigmatic South Atlantic Anomaly, these satellites operate in a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) at an altitude of 450km and an inclination of 41°. Macau Scientific Satellite 1B, developed by Northwestern Polytechnical University, carries a solar X-ray detector designed to investigate solar activity. Joining this groundbreaking mission is Luojia-2 01, built by Wuhan University. This advanced satellite weighs 353kg and features a Ka-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) capable of capturing imagery with a remarkable resolution of up to 0.5 meters.
