IAEA director general Rafael Grossi has openly 'endorsed' the use of munitions with depleted uranium by saying it does not create a direct radiological threat. UK Minister James Heappey confirmed in late April that Britain had sent Ukraine thousands of shells for Challenger 2 tanks, including depleted-uranium rounds.
