ENGLAND LONDON OPENING OF PARLIAMENT 1920. Full item title reads: “King & Queen open first peace parliament with full ceremony.“ London. No interiors - just procession. Nice footage of troops and coaches etc. Various shots of procession of troops, coaches, etc., passing through streets of London on its way to Westminster for the opening of the first Parliament during peace time, including good shots State Coaches and crowds lining streets. Nice footage around Buckingham Palace including unusual shot of parade passing out of the palace towards the Mall. Nice shot of six men in elaborate cavalry regimental uniform walking through a courtyard. It is so windy that the large feathered plumage on their helmets is blowing around all over the place. One hangs on to his helmet to help it stay on. The royal carriage passes close to camera but we don't get a good view of King George V or Queen Mary. Looks like a very windy, rainy day.
