In partnership with the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA), FOCLonline is happy to announce that ICMDA has offered the following outstanding talks and interviews with Dr. Jay Smith. ICMDA represents 60,000 medical and dental professionals in 110 countries (). ICMDA hosts a weekly free webinar with a world-class expert every week on Christian, medical, and scientific issues. These talks and interviews on a long list of cutting-edge topics are available here: Muslim tradition teaches that the Qur'an we use today originated with Muhammad, and was finally canonized by Uthman in 652 A.D., and that “not one word, nor one letter has changed in the last 1400 years“. But what do the Qur'anic manuscripts reveal? This webinar will evaluate the various Qur'anic manuscripts in existence today, comparing their texts and ages and identifying their possible literary sources. This is the final in a series of three webinars this month on Understanding Islam with renowned Christian apologist Dr Jay Smith. Jay Smith has worked with Muslims since 1983. He has two masters’ degrees and will complete his PhD in Islamics, in the areas of Apologetics and Polemics by the summer of 2016. Jay is one of Christianity’s principal public evangelists and debaters to the Muslim world. He travels extensively teaching Apologetics for those exploring ministry to Muslims and engages the movers and thinkers of Islam on a weekly basis. He is the founding member of the ‘Hyde Park Christian Fellowship’, a weekly evangelism ministry to Muslims in London’s public places, as well as a co-founder for the Pfander Centre for Apologetics. Peter Saunders was born in New Zealand and originally trained as a general surgeon before serving with the Africa Inland Mission in Kenya and completing two years of mission training at All Nations Christian College in the UK. From 1992 to 2018 he served full-time with Christian Medical Fellowship, a UK-based organisation with 4,500 UK doctors and 1,000 medical students as members, first as Head of Student Ministries, and from 1999 as Chief Executive. From 2006 to 2018 he also served as Campaign Director of the Care Not Killing Alliance, a coalition of over 40 organisations in the UK promoting palliative care and opposing euthanasia. Since January 2019 he has been CEO of the ICMDA (International Christian Medical and Dental Association) which brings together national associations of doctors and dentists in over 80 countries worldwide. His work has involved leadership training, teaching evangelism and ethics, medical mission, writing, editing, and media work. His wife Kirsty is a retired community paediatrician and they have three sons, Christopher, Benjamin and Jonathan, and two grandchildren. They are members of Spicer Street Church, St Albans. ; 23EXWEB06
