NIUTRON Reveals Its First Vehicle (With Ford Bronco Styling Similarities): the NV Yinan Li, a founder of NIU, thought that four wheels are better than two and decided to create his own car brand. We must say it was fast: the startup presented its first vehicle on January 12. Called NV, it is an SUV that will be sold as a BEV (battery electric vehicle) and a PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle). Last month Niu Chuangxin Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Niu) officially announced the new EV brand Niutron (Chinese 自游家). Niu is famous in China for its electric scooters. Today they unveiled the design and some specs of the first electric vehicle. Niutron’s official WeChat account has posted photographs of the vehicle (SUV) with a design concept called “Urban Exploring.” The new vehicle is classified as a high-end mid-to-large 5-seat SUV with pure electric and extended-range hybrid power. The production will start in March 2022. Looking at the overall look, we can say that Niutron has done a fabulous job, keeping the design minimalistic. The headlight gives a retro look known as Dual track ring lights if we look at the car’s front. Thanks to the elevated engine cover and black front surround, the front has a commanding presence, the front has a commanding presence, the front has a commanding presence. The car’s side profile has a soothing yet straightforward design with a Digital dynamic battery charge indicator embedded in the C pillar and yet managed to make it perfectly blend in with the whole structure of the car. The new car’s rising waistline form provides a much more dynamic visual experience, and the black body pillars give it the appearance of a suspended roof. It’s worth highlighting that the new car’s C Pillars has a metal-textured cover plate is included on the column. The rear end gets a nice and beautiful Niutron logo that compliments the design. And then it also has integrated roof spoilers and side airfoils. At the same time, the penetrating taillight group uses a matrix design that complements the penetrating LED light group on the front face. According to Niutron, the car’s dimensions measure about 4,915 mm in length, 1950mm in width, 1750mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2900mm. The car will be equipped with an intelligent electric four-wheel-drive system, with the ability to achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.9 seconds and a variety of driving modes as standard. Niutron created the Gemini platform to allow numerous versions to be built using two separate technological paths: pure electric and extended-range. Niutron now operates a 770,000-square-meter R&D and manufacturing plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, roughly 200km from Shanghai. The production capacity is 180,000-unit-per-year. Niutron is headquartered in Beijing, with an R&D facility in Shanghai and a core R&D staff of approximately 1,000 employees with an average of more than 10 years of expertise. Niutron’s first model, a midsize SUV, is now being tuned and installed, with a modest test production run scheduled for March 2022 and an official debut scheduled for September, according to Li. Customers will choose between an extended-range and an all-electric version of the car. The most important aspect for a newcomer to attract customer attention is to offer value for money. So far, NIUTRON has not disclosed how much it plans to charge for the NV. From what we have seen so far, either the startup has a killer price or is still holding back what will make it a competitive new brand. We’ll wait for any of these possibilities. #Niutron #NiutronEv #NiutronNV #EREV #BEV #ElectricCar #NiutronFirstElectricCar #NIU #TheNV What do you think of Niutron NV, readers?
