Mute US Signal Corps footage showing the formal surrender of remnants of the schwerer-Panzer-Abteilung-512 to US troops at the Schillerplatz at Iserlohn on 16 April 1945. Rare shots of Jagdtiger heavy tank hunters armed with the PAK 44 L/55 cannon and a Panther armoured recovery vehicle or Bergepanther on the move. Also of interest to AFV enthusiasts are the shots of a US-built M3A1 White Scout car in German 00:35 to 00:50. At this stage in the war in Europe, 21st Army Group under the command of Field Marshal Montgomery were still using the White Scout Car but it seems more likely that the vehicle seen here was a trophy fom an earlier battle on the eastern front with the Red Amy which received many thousands of US-manufactured vehicles during the years 1942 to 1945 via Lend-Lease.
