Protect those furry loved ones during the #4thofJuly. LASD reminds everyone that pets are sensitive to loud noises, especially fireworks. Please keep your pets safe during the 4th of July. Here are some tips to help keep you pets comfortable and safe from our partners at County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control: • Keep your pet indoors with a radio or television playing in the background. This can serve as a distraction and offer a sense of comfort for your pet. • If your pets are outside, make sure ALL gates are closed and locked and that fencing is secure. They may try to escape if startled. • Make sure your pets are micro-chipped and have collars with ID tags on them. Include a phone number where you can be reached. You should have a current picture of your pets in case they are lost or separated from you. • DO NOT take your pet to a firework show or even a neighborhood gathering. They are safer at home.
